“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
by Kahlil Gibran
Today, I’m linking up with Living Arrows, where each Monday we celebrate our children with an image that captures childhood.
Last week, despite the dodgy weather, we tried to make the most of the last week of the holidays with trips out.
We had playdates with friends, trips to the woods (my 5 year old is now maxed out on woods!) and finally a visit to the fair. We were lucky enough to get some gorgeous weather at the fair, it was the perfect way to round off the holidays. (Actually I rounded off the holidays by drinking too much gin with my mum and spending Saturday in bed 🤢, but the fair sounds better.)
As much as I have loved summer, I am so ready for school to start. We all need to get back into a routine and I need to get my head down and get working! I’ll all set for Autumn, already planning hearty stews and shopping for knitwear 🍁.
I’m a little conflicted about this image. I love it because she looks so happy and it’s so her. Technically it’s not great. Her face is too bright and the composition is way too cluttered, but I sort of like it like that. Given technical accuracy versus how I feel about a photo, I’m always going to choose feelings.
